[bay area] Coming Home!
I just booked my one-way flight back to the Bay Area, coming home for good from Puerto Rico. Boris and I get home on Saturday, September 3. I am SO excited! My household goods and my car will precede me in departure and hopefully in arrival as well, cargo shipment gods permitting.
So, given that I start at the firm on September 19, I have a whopping two weeks off between jobs -- which means no vacation. Two weeks is barely time enough to find an apartment, move in my paltry belongings, and get a California license and registration for the car at DMV. I don't want to be doing those things after the job starts.
A vacation would have been nice, but in this legal economy, when the firm says that the partner you'll be working with wants you to start as soon as possible, you start as soon as possible. (Well, almost. They suggested I start the day after Labor Day. Ha.) It's nice to be wanted, I guess.
