That's all, folks

It's been eight years since I started this journal. It's seen me through nearly the entirety of my twenties. However, I haven't posted in three months. Let's make it official: I'm not planning to keep posting.

Brief update: My clerkship ended and I moved out of Puerto Rico over Labor Day weekend. I'm back in California, living in the South Bay, in a little cottage that I love. The cats are reunited and (after a rocky adjustment period) are best friends again. I'm back among my family and friends, meeting new people, in a culture that I comprehend, where I fit in and feel comfortable. I started my new job at a big law firm three weeks ago. So far, I love it, even though the hours are already unpredictable and being a real, responsible lawyer is pretty scary. Overall, I'm really happy. I'm so, so glad I'm home.

My use of LJ has been on the decline for many months. I still remember to read my friends page a couple times a week, and I'll still comment sometimes, probably. But I don't feel like I need it anymore as an outlet, and there are so many other ways of keeping in touch with you guys. In short, LJ has lived out its useful lifespan. So, I'm going back to what I originally intended to use this account for: as a passive tool for reading other people's entries, not to write posts myself.

Thank you all for eight years of sharing your selves with me, and keep in touch.
