Four months before I come home, the state announces that it is closing 70 state parks, including my two very favorite ones, Del Norte Coast Redwoods SP and Portola Redwoods SP.
My whole plan for the 2+ months (!) I'll have off between coming home around Labor Day and starting work just after Veterans' Day was to drive around and be outside as much as possible, including going camping.
Ugh.
