March 2, 2008 - "Don't Hear This: A Performance Talk on the Effects of Media Consolidation and Government Censorship." The ACLU cosponsors a music and comedy presentation by syndicated radio host Dr. Demento. Kane Hall, room 110. Sunday, March 2, 3:00-4:15 PM. And there's a reception afterward for Reed College alumni, if you're a Reedie, as Dr. Demento (unsurprisingly) is.
Check it out, Bay Area folks: he'll be giving the same talk at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre on Monday at 7 PM.
And guess who has an article to write this weekend? I have a fucking article to write this fucking weekend!! It also costs $20, and I am broke.
I am who I am today partially because I used to listen to Dr. Demento on KFOG late at night as a little kid. "Star Trekkin'," "Doctorin' the TARDIS," "Fish Heads," everything Weird Al ever put out... great days, great days.
