I went shopping today and came across this puff paint, and recalling a tutorial I read somewhere, about how this an be used to make icing, or melted chocolate on things, I decided to buy some. And ended up getting a pink, cream and a chocolate coloured one, with some plan in mind to use them as strawberry, chocolate and vanilla icing. So anyway, over the past dew days I've finished painting my last batch of cupcakes, and glossed them, and today I've actually finished icing all of them too ^_^ But you've seen pictures of how that looks like, so instead I will show you what I did with the puff paint:
Recall all those cookies and popsicle magnets? Ye-es.....I used the puff paint on them.
The white chocolate doesn't turn out as well as I would have liked, but it still looks pretty realistic I think. I'm going to need to paint the pops wit make them look like pops, and stick a gem in the bottom corner of the popsicles.
The chocolate one turned out really well, probably because it's such a dark colour, it doesn't need as much smoothing out as the cream one.
And the strawberry one was ok, better than the cream, but not as good as the chocolate. But I am pleased with the overall effect, I think I will use the puff paint more in the future ^_^
Melting chocolate ... mmm ... Even my mum agrees that they look real :D
For the cookies, I decided to use the paint as sprinkles of some sort for them.
It makes the dots around their edges more noticeable that's for sure.
Hmm, should not have used the cream one for the pink cookies, it doesn't show up as well as the others, ah well, strawberry and cream cookies?
EDIT: I completed the magnets! I wsas at home all Sunday so I was able to get alot done, but anyway, pictures!
I painted the pops of the popsicles, and glued on the gems.
I am really pleased with how the popsicles turned out, they look really cute I think!
And the cookies!
I hope they will be a hit at Wai-con! Ah, also, Bashiba re-drew my mascot for me, and it looks much better than how I had her before!
Her eyes have been changed and she no longer has her hairpin, and I think she looks really good this way! I can't wait to use her in the packaging and business cards!
^_^
