June the 16th: These rains are shower strength

Jun 16, 2010 23:51

Ted actually has a story about how as a kid he was playing on someone's lawn when it started to rain. Said someone had just gotten back from Vietnam where the showers really were showers so he heard him yell "SHOWER!" and run out stark naked. So glad that wasn't me....
Let's see, I can't tell if I sent an email to the wrong person or not for volunteering at the Bookstore again, so I've fired off a new one (and I'm now worried, I was using that person as a reference sometimes and I thought she was still there since the info on the website was still the same but no email back is not a good sign). And I'll start helping with unpacking for 10,000 villages Monday and see if they want to train me as a greeter or not (I'm fine with just unpacking in the back too).
Other than that, quiet day again. Augh, miss college and the half crazy full half lull schedule I had there. Sure I'm keeping myself entertained but I do feel restrained here, it's even worse than last summer since I had a part time job then to keep me busy 10-5, Monday through Friday. I am planning on seeing Toy Story 3 on Friday with Chynna but the week moves by so slowly, I've got to come up with more active stuff to do (hah, active in this humidity and dodging storms? Might be an exercise to think of something that'll deal with that). Since I couldn't bring myself to start Nobody's Boy Remi (the "it's for people who never want to feel happy again" part is making me wary) I started Birdy the Mighty Decode (after I figured out which parts were the first season and which were the second season, very important stuff). My mom checked out Sherlock Holmes and we finished that today, she liked it and Ted said he had to leave the room before he started agreeing with me that Irene's actress was weak. Oh, and my mom was shocked to learn that, last summer around this time, Ted has no memories of being in a wheel chair after his dental surgery. None at all, he asked her if she was making this up and she said something along the lines that it was too funny to make up.
Sam: What are we talking about here?
Me: Ted was high and in a wheelchair and has no memory of it.
Sam: No seriously, what are we-*gets cut off by my mom laughing hard*

I'll work on another page or two of the nanomango before I go to bed and then, well, it's the sack. With how rough I'm drawing out the pages I don't think I'll have 15 "inked" pages by the 30th, maybe three but I really need to retouch almost everything (I don't think I've done a single shot of a person so far that I've liked and that's never a good sign). Continuing to work but my anatomy seems even worse than it was a few months ago, I'm looking up as many references as I can when I start touching it up. Signing off *Falls over tired*
