[-] My rampant crush on all things British television continues UNABATED thanks to
tinnny who FORCED me to watch My Mad, Fat Diary, and yikes, I think I've found my new My So-Called Life. I've only seen the first couple of episodes so far, but I am IN LOVE WITH IT.
tinnny made the comment that she suspects they've set the show in the mid-90s as opposed to the 80s when the diaries were originally written because Oasis and Radiohead and Beck and Blur are more relevant these days than Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, which LOLOL, but also, OMG, so true!
[-] Triple J's Hottest 100 happened. I'm still processing. It will probably need a post all of its own.
[-] Speaking of music; here's a new song from Aussie girl, Eves The Behavior. I've recced her before under her 'old' name,
Eves, but apparently there was already someone called that and they threatened to sue her, or something. So now she's Eves The Behavior. ANYWAY... here is a song to over-relate to!!

i saw my feelings on tv last night...
[-] Australian author, Colleen McCullough passed away. She wrote lots of things, but she is best known for her 1977 classic 'The Thorn Birds'. I have read this book more times than could ever be healthy. I am about to start reading it again. I've never read it as an 'adult' so it'll be interesting to see what I think about it these days.
leobrat, I'm thinking you'd like it a lot.
ANYWAY... The Australian, OUR NATIONAL NEWSPAPER, included this gem in their obituary. I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING...
It spawned an excellent twitter hashtag,
myozobituary, where people are writing their own obituaries (and obituaries for others) in this style. It's all kinds of hilarious.
RIP
waltzmatildah. Divorced, childless, and television obsessed to the end, she was, nevertheless, a three time university graduate who also managed to travel a bit.
