[fic] meme | "well, this is what I really call a party now..."
In news that will surprise approximately NO-ONE, leobrat announced that she associates the following three ships with yours truly...
The idea is that I now ramble at length about ALL TEH FIC I wish the universe would magically create especially for me and featuring these six LIFE RUINERS. Firstly, though, may we all just have a little OHLOL for waltzmatildah and the fact that approximately NONE of these are still things... My shipping life is the most barren of desertscapes these days.
Alex Karev and Izzie Stevens | Grey's Anatomy
I feel like this might be a bit of a theme for what's to come but, basically, I just want ALL THE FIC for these two!! I want early days fic, I want current day fic, I want future fic, I want AUs, I want character studies, I want, I want, I want...!! I WILL NEVER BE SATED! Given the fact that I'm basically 100% of the people who still write this couple, I realise that the best way to achieve this end is to DO IT MYSELF, but, like, sometimes you just wanna read, you know?!
[-] I really want to read (and will probably write) a fic that swaps Alex and Izzie's major in-show life events over. This is only something that occured to me recently, but now that the idea is in my head, I CAN'T SEEM TO QUIT IT! I have this ridiculous notion that putting Alex through all Izzie's crap might just make people realise how much SENSE everything that happened made (as much as I hated it for what it did to Alex/Izzie, it was all just so much YES!!! that I can't begin to fathom how EVERYONE FAILS TO GET IT! I mean, obviously, there's the part where Katie put people off - I didn't follow the actors/actresses so missed all of this hoohar at the time - and there's also the part where Alex has a Magic Penis, which is probably explanation enough, if I'm honest, but like... NO! PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET IT! I want them to get it. I feel like it's my DUTY IN LIFE to help them get it!).
[-] FUTURE FIC. Where they meet/run into each other somewhere completely random and old feelings resurface and hot sex happens (they always were best at that part, after all), and then they go their separate ways again. I'm not talking pure PWP here, I want angsting and banter and snark and all that good stuff too. But also, hot sex. Yes.
[-] Season one, two, three fic. Anything really from The Grand Old Days of Yore when they were mostly just scared interns who had no fucking clue about anything and were doing the best they could not to drown most days. With special guest appearances by Meredith, George and Cristina. Obvs.
Jordan Catalano/Angela Chase | My So-Called Life
As it stands, there is pretty much nothing already in existence for these two. There are a smattering of fics on AO3, but mostly it's a travesty of epic proportions that could seriously use some rectifying. The fact that the show is 20 years old doesn't really augur well for my wishes coming true here...
[-] HOMELAND CROSSOVER FIC!!! I've tempted this before, with a 100 word drabble for yuletide a couple of years ago. HOW PERFECT WOULD IT BE, THOUGH?!! I can absolutely see Angela ending up in the kind of employment position that Carrie's in. And given she's effectively a spy, it wouldn't be too hard to create a plausible backstory to get her there... SOMEONE, PLEASE GIVE ME THIS!! Maybe Jordan sees her on the news one night? Or even just runs into her somewhere random? Or she goes to one of his concerts? Or he's playing acoustic guitar in a dingy bar somewhere in the middle of no-where (I think this scenario is my favourite!!). ALL THE POSSIBILITIES.
[-] Future-fic. I have this idea (as leobrat already knows!) that Jordan ends up in some kind of military role after school, and he and Angela don't see each other for years. He comes back and they run into each other again (there is a lot of this happening in my fic wishes! Haha!!), and BAM. They re-connect. Actually, no. WAIT. Angela is a journalist. Maybe even a foreign correspondant. She ends up doing a story that involves him (not to her prior knowledge), and they meet up again that way? Or he's a musician and she's a journalist. OH, I DON'T EVEN KNOW ANYMORE! There will be leaning, okay? And he will look SMOKING HOT whilst doing it!
Walter White/Skyler White | Breaking Bad
I nominated Skyler for yuletide this year and was gifted one of the best fics I think I have EVER read. These Lifeless Things, by warriorpoet. My life, Breaking Bad fic-wise, is basically complete thanks to this! I seriously don't know what else I could possibly want.
[-] Maybe I'd like some pre-series fic, though. Something that delves into their relationship when Skyler's re-selling junk on eBay and Walt's working at the car-wash. How did their dynamic work in those days? I feel like there were probably hints at what they were capable of, and I'd love to see this explored in the context of their pre-show struggles.
Mostly, though, I just want to bask in the GLORIOUSNESS of These Lifeless Things and lament the fact that I will never write like that!
