A Lovely Holdiay Weekend...

We had some folks over for a dip in the pool on Monday. It was hot as all get-out here, we had a dash of thunderstorm, then a swim in the pool - it was delicious! However, the air-conditioning back in the house afterwards was a bit... chilling... (at least until we got used to it!)

After that, Terry and I hennaed on folks... I covered most of the side of my friend Eileen's leg (I'll edit this with the pix when I get to them), and Terry created a lovely shoulder-collarbone-leg vine design on Erika. Both pieces were quite different, yet quite delicious!

In preparation for the gathering, we got the house most of the way clean~ yay!!!

On Tuesday we went to the Festival for the Eno in Durham NC it was WAY TOO HOT (as usual) and we tromped around enjoying the beautiful art and seeing old friends until we melted in heat exhaustion.

I bought some more GEORGEOUS tie-dye from my dear old friend, James Herndon of BeanDawg Dyes !! James and I go way back - from college days! He actually knew Bosco the Waltzing Dog back in the days of 4 legs! ~ before he was, well, waltzing! Let me tell you - the tie-dyes in the pix on their website are no way NEAR as cool as the ones in real life!! Their work is awesome! I had run across him at a local festival 2? years ago...? after not seeing him for YEARS! I bought a beautiful rainbow tie-dyed dress then, and have gotten TONS of compliments on it!

I had hennaed all the way down my left arm that morning (for advertising, of course!) At the Festival, I got to chat with a most respectable local Henna Artist who remembered me from the NC Renaissance Faire! I watched her work some and we chatted. The other henna artist that was there admired my arm, and asked if I would draw her some designs on paper. I declined - why would I do free flash for the competition? I was both flattered and a little shocked by the request, to tell the truth.

More later - looks like I gotta get back to Sculpy armature scultures with the kids, and get the mail before it storms (again)
