-------------------------------------------------------
After day 1 of the $1500 HORSE, I have 14600, which is slightly above average. I feel fortunate to even be in the tournament. Ming Reslock (Chris's wife) absolutely crushed the table and has about 50,000 in chips. She would basically announce her hand, but people would call her down. Except me. One stud hand I pair my door card and double bet, she raises me with the 6s2s showing. On 5th street, she catches the 3s. Acting first, I open fold my two pair, so she turns over the straight flush. That was probably the worst thing that happened to her all day. Restart @ 3pm. jorj is sitting next to me, and I often play poorly when yakking with friends so I'll really try to focus.
PotLimitHoldem/PotLimitOmaha @ 5pm (should be a 4:20 start?!) if I fail and am still hungry. Otherwise next stop, Saturday night 3k HORSE.
Event 18 $2000 Limit Holdem Out of the tournament quickly but
not painlessly.
Event 20 $1500 Pot-Limit Omaha I've always figured I suck at this game and might be a big dog, but I don't think so anymore. Got it all in in a wonderful spot, and the guy hit the gut shot straight. I'm playing this one every time now.
Event 21 $1500 Limit Stud Never had anything but still played 14 or so hours for a small cash.
Event 27 $1500 Limit Stud Hi-Lo Got destroyed every hand I played. Out in level 3. Very frustrating. My 3 fave games (O8, 3-draw, and E) were all complete no-ops.
Small anecdote that has nowhere else to go: on Sunday I went down to the South Point to sweat Colleen in her chess tournament and see if any of my friends were playing. (I also wiped out half my amazon wishlist in the vending area.) While waiting in the analysis room, in walks Allen Cunningham, who like me has apparently retaken up chess after a long hiatus. We went over his game (he's def underrated, duh), and he mentioned that he might not play the last round, as he already had the 3.5 points he needed for the $50 gift certificate. !!!?!?! Not sure if that will help him get past Joe Hachem on the
all-time money list or not.
