New Year

Jan 02, 2008 21:40

The transition from 2007 to 2008 was rather uneventful for me, and that's the way I like it. Erik and I watched the CSI marathon on TV and then shortly before midnight, went up to my roof. At midnight we watched the very impressive pyrotechnic display over the city, laughed and hugged and then went to bed.

On the first day of the new year, we got in my car and drove up into the Sierra Nevada mountains just to drive there. We thought maybe we'd drive all the way to Reno, NV but we got tired about 10 miles from the CA/NV border and turned around. It was a good drive, we talked a lot and had a great time. It was a good way to spend the day. When we got home at 8PM we went to bed because Erik's flight was REALLY early.

At 5AM today, my alarm went off and I had to get up to drive Erik to the airport - in OAKLAND. It was okay though, I didn't mind - seeing him was everything I'd hoped. I was really sad that he had to leave but I think I was too tired to be upset or anything.

This weekend I'm going to Seattle to photograph the Information Society concert. It should be a lot of fun. I'm not sure how I'm going to get through airport security with all the computer components, glass tubes, halogen bulbs, capacitors and keys and whatever else I have in my hair. Heh.

I'm off to bed now, I have to work at 6AM tomorrow. Ugh.
