The screencap is from the new L'7 DVD and I died when I saw that. XD
But joking aside, the DVD is amazing! It was somehow weird to watch an old live as a new one, especially since hyde looks pretty different nowadays, especially with VAMPS. I had also come so accustomed to following the members' new/solo projects that watching a new L'Arc DVD felt odd, but the DVD gave me big reminders as to why I love the band so much. While watching, I was either smiling at the band's great energy and adorableness, staring wide eyed at the cool effects or choking back tears at the emotion in the songs, not to mention dying at the variety of the setlist, which I had conveniently forgotten for the most part.
The stage was incredibly cool! This far I have considered the TOK stage as one of the best ones but the pirate ship totally beat it! I don't know if it was just really clever editing for the DVD or if the revealing of the stage was the same in the concert but the connection between the into video and the revealing of the stage was wonderful. The intro video was really cool as well, especially in yukihiro's part. And the ghost skeletons were just insane! Also, the stormy sea on the screen in forbidden lover was the most fitting thing ever.
I totally loved the band's interaction and performance, the way hyde was perched in the bow of the ship was great to watch, not the mention how they all gathered there to perform Sell my Soul. ♥ The P'UNK performance was simply hilarious with all its energy and YUKI P'UNK is love. And I want a ken angle DVD of the whole tour. Speaking of ken, his MC was wonderfully amusing, I loved how it ended up with all three of them discussing and laughing together. ♥ The guys looked gorgeous as well; my heart was leaping especially when hyde was filmed. As cute as I found his fluffy VAMPS hair, the sleek and straight dark brown he had in the DVD looked so great on him, and the make-up really accentuated his eyes. I also loved his clothes a lot, and yukihiro's as well. I might have a thing for vests. XD
Praising the music would be pretty much useless since it's a given their music is marvellous but WOW. hyde's voice was perfect, from the hoarse screaming in REVELATION to the beautiful falsetto in MHDAD, not to mention the emotion. I was disappointed that MHDAD didn't have ken's solo in the beginning though, but it was touching how they stopped playing for a while in the "yume wo egaku yo" part and let the audience sing. I had goose bumps on my skin in so many songs and the whole DVD was just pure love.
I love L'Arc~en~Ciel.
