The center of Alytus was rather artificially developed in around the central park in 1985-1990. And since the economic and legal basis changed significantly after 1990 the initial plans remained not relaized fully. But today we will make a short walk in this part of the town:

Interesting. I think it's an example of local (Lithuanian) project since I can not remember such movie theatre anywhere else. Rather unusual because in most cases it was a prerogative of Moscow (or Leningrad) institutes to develop typical projects of public buildings such as culture palaces, cinemas or hotels.

But in the 1950s most of the typical projects used here had M/L origin for sure. Only later may be some local typical projects were developed. I tried to find the authors of "Lietuva" cinema in Vilnius but was able to find only remarks "typical project" ...
