I just got off the phone with Dad. Mom had been in principle okay with talking with him when I first asked, but then once she wasn't going to be off the bipap she didn't want to. So since I dunno, a little after half past two I've been sitting with mom, using the iPad one handed, other hand in hers as she sleeps. Her hr has gone down from 150 to 120, and her breathing, though still bipap, is better. It has, so far, been a hell of a day. Mom went to step down from Icu this (Friday) morning. I was there from a bit before 5 til a bit after 8 this evening, then went up to a housewarming in odenton, arriving there a little after 9. Dad doesn't understand why I don't feel comfortable driving 8 hrs to upstate New York next weekend to camp with a bunch of friends amidst spotty cel service. I suspect t-mobile doesn't work there at all, nor a good deal of the way there.

1) Mom was off BiPAP as of noon today. ( momstuff. potential new location, distress re same )

Things I could do without: being the person to notice (again) that mom is having trouble breathing, and being the one to eventually say fuck it and crank the o2 up. Sats now far better in ER but on cpap with lots of o2. I have my bag and iPad now; I think my wallet and laptop are back with my car at the facility. Had hoped to have an evening in ( Read more... )
