So just over a month ago, I got a degree in English.

Just a couple of days ago, I played Scrabble with my brother, who has no qualifications after high school.

And I lost.

I've decided to interpret it as God's way of keeping me humble. I have learnt from this experience. For one thing, having an English degree doesn't mean you can spell. For another ( Read more... )

I don't miss...

- The bed. It was fine, but it wasn't MY bed.
- Being woken up by gale force winds/street sweepers. Although I got so used to the street sweepers I couldn't hear them for the last few months. The first night it sounded like a small spacecraft was coming in to dock with my window.

1. Make a den. We did this at Easter. Our den making skills have much improved from childhood, as has our attention span. Our den encompassed two sitting room chairs and the TV, and the central pole was a step ladder, on top of which was the parcel shelf from Sam's car.
