I don't miss...
- The bed. It was fine, but it wasn't MY bed.
- Being woken up by gale force winds/street sweepers. Although I got so used to the street sweepers I couldn't hear them for the last few months. The first night it sounded like a small spacecraft was coming in to dock with my window.
- The floor shaking when a bus went past.
- The floor vibrating for no discernable reason.
- Not being able to put pens down on the table without them rolling off.
- Films, TV, and house group interrupted by drunk people arguing, or skateboards. How can a skateboard be so loud!!!
- People being sick on our doorstep. This I will miss least of all.
- Washing up.
But I do miss...
- Having access to the fridge and kettle at any stupid time of night, without worrying about waking people up.
- Algernon, the spider who lived outside the living room window. He'd sit there in the corner every night, and his optimism was an inspiration to us, considering the size of the web he'd built.
- Having Disney the cat for a couple of weeks. Yeeeeah...we weren't allowed pets, but she had nowhere else to go.
- Watching some of the arguing drunk people get arrested by a veritable swarm of coppers.
- The way my room smelt of washing powder after I hung up laundry on a warm day.
- Singing really loud when I was on my own.
- All of us staying up until some ridiculous hour on a Sunday, to watch the repeat of Heroes, because we couldn't catch it on a Thursday night. And the things we'd end up doing to kill time.
- Hot chocolate and the K'hali game - our own home-made board game. EDIT: I've already mentioned this in another post, and wrote almost EXACTLY the same thing. That says something about me. I'm not sure it's a flattering something, but there you go.
Yeah...it's kind of a good missing it, if you know what I mean. I have a lot of good memories.
