Last Night and Today

Q: So, Vlindinhauer, how did yesterday end up?

A: Well, after more puttering and laundry and pizza I finally got out of the apartment at 1745hrs. I met some colleagues to discuss a work with marionette puppets. For source materials I offered Brownings "The Pied Piper of Hamelin", "The Devil with the three Golden Hairs" by the Brothers Grimm, and "The Diamond Necklace" by Guy de Maupassant. When playing with the existing marionettes I went into the famous Queen Titania speech by Shakespeare and it was quite a hit. We're now think ing of doing a catalogue of monologues as a spring board to this work. Hmmmm, someones cooking bacon nearby ...

Q: Yea, it smells kind of good.

A: Then I had a wee amount of time before heading over to Ceremony, so I gazed out at the Charles from the perspective of the BU Bridge. It was glorious. One of the highlights was watching a gaggle of geese (at least 60) silently float by.

Q: Ah the serenity ...

A: This was quickly contrasted with the mayham at Ceremony. It was good to see the place so packed ... and people dancing! The ebbs and flows were less dramatic, and when the numbers got few, new ranks quickly filled in. Yeah, I can be a bit of a showboat when I'm feeling it, but whenever stranded on the floor a strange self-doubt enters.

Q: That seems natural.

A: I suppose. Anyway ... I must now prepare for work.
