Q: Alright, so it's getting close to mid-day, what's gone on and what's to come?
A: Well, the bathroom is in good order and ready for some stranger to enter and deal with the plumbing crisis. Moreover, the "loading dock" area is now under control.
Q: Let me interrupt for a sec, what about that closet?
A: Fuck. Good question. I looked at it briefly, remembering the not-so-recent mouse episode, and realized that there's a good chance that project sha'n't be undertook 'til the day we move.
Q: I don't know what is more far-fetched? That answser, or the thought of you ever moving!
A: Agreed.
Q: So, anyway, let's return to to-day. What's to come?
A: Well, I'm thinking it's time I made another mix tape. In this new modern series I've been developing I like to have three current tapes in circulation. Regrettably, between the lo-fi tapes and the lo-fi equipment I use for the commute, tapes don't last too long: which is funny, 'cause I have tapes that go back to the mid eighties that sound as good today as they did then.
Q: This lo-fi trend seems "pénible".
A: Sometimes it is, but it also is quite refreshing. If anything it keeps the on-going mix from being "pénible", with a constant update going on: the order remains somewhat fresh. It's also a lesson in non-attachment. I have stacks and stacks of mix tapes from 85-96, most I'll never listen to again. Why do I have them all still? It's some kind of attachment. This "new" approach is an exersize in non-attachment and impermanance.
Q: Any prognostications for the rest of the day?
A: Well, as I make said tape I shall continue to putter around the apartment, chiefly focusing now in The Great Hall. That way I can stay close to the music and check in on the internet machine from time to time.
Q: Ok, back to whatever it is you're doing or going to do next.
