today i woke up really late (for work) and only really worked an hour cause i'm starting to volunteer with the teen peer advocated program (TPAP) and so i don't get paid to go on field trips with them but hey.. i don't have to pay to go on field trips! it's kinda awk. tho cause some of the ppl are my age or ever older (by a couple months) so it's like i have no authority --but then again they're teenage girls and the leaders are young women so everyone's just buddy buddy!
we went to the wing luke musuem today and i seriously wanted to cry at some things--i'm really glad i went cause i hadn't been insided (the musuem) since elm school and ireally appreciate all the artifacts and history the tour guide was super awesome too... and they're moving to a huger building in 08 (when ACRS is moving to their new building!) so that's exciting!
oH! there was also this special exhibit that opens today and we got a little sneak preview, it was this japanese american artist who was homeless in NY (apparently there is a relatively--not large, but you know--group of homeless artists in NY whose works are sold and pretty renowned, but they're still homeless unfortunately) neways... so crazy but cool story--he was american born--from seattle, deported to japan during WWII, came back, went to NY started painting, had his paintings sold and recognized, this person knew that person who knew this person, etc. etc. etc. he still has family in seattle! they reunited--yey--he doesn't live on the streets nemore--yey--and he's still an artist in NY--yey--he's famous for his cats but his politically pieces were amazing, he had some works of the twin towers and apparently he only lived like 3 blocks away from there during 9/11... ANYWAAYS so that mini bio is there to lead up to the fact that was met him! (kinda) as we were leaving he was coming in and it was cool. the end (btw his names is jimmy mirikitani--if you wanted to look him up)
haha so then we stopped by the panama hotel (never been--was cool)
then i caughted the bus to the paramount (with a bowl of fish congee to go)
danced and danced and danced...got in costumes... i'm 2+ different shades of... my skin. look SO bad compared to other girls
did bad on the second dance, got yelled at by the drummer aka lora's (my teacher) son... danced and danced and danced some more and caught the bus back into redmond at 8:30... pretty tiring day if you ask me
oH! i also ran into julia on the bus to seattle this morning! it was pretty cool =)
and for you all you who aren't gonna read this in time...i might be on TV tomorrow morning!!! channel 5 (i think) joyce taylor (yasmin's field advisor) is gonna cover us (the african dance group) at 7 AM which means i gotta be at my teacher's house by 6 am if i wanna carpool (which i do)
soooooo keep an eye out for me ;) i might get interviewed (highly unlikely tho)
lalala this is a rather long post, sorry guys--i'm gonna try to take hellzaz pictures tomrrow and saturday =)
