"Spider-Man, Class and Militarization in the Marvel Cinematic Universe"
This is fairly simpatico with a lot of my thoughts. Iron Man gets mentioned a lot too because you (unfortunately) can't talk about MCU Spider-Man without talking a lot about Iron Man.
Tom Holland is sweet, but MCU Spider-Man isn't the real Spider-Man to me.
When I saw Civil War, the friend I saw it with was surprised by how I was harping about Tony Stark blackmailing and buying this poor kid because she didn't notice the indicators of the Parkers being lower-class that screamed out to me. I must be imagining it, I must be taking it the wrong way. Peter dumpster dives for old tech because he likes it(?). When they put the Parkers' apartment in that building they can't have meant what a Queens resident knows they meant.... You can comment here or at the Dreamwidth crosspost.
