Yesterday, my car's "check engine" light turned on for the fourth time since September. The last three times were all false alarms, but I bring it to my mechanics every time in case the newest one isn't. I'm waiting to hear what's up from them this fourth time.

NY 1 recently did a short feature on one of the NYC Ferry vessels, which I enjoyed but then had a "wait!" moment when the reporter talked about how things are on the ferry McShiny. The McShiny?! Turns out it was one of a few ferries named by second-graders in 2017.
"
School kids choose name for new ferry: 'McShiny'"
"
All Aboard The 'McShiny'! City Lets Second Graders Name New Ferries"
(The news reporters of these articles thought it might have been a reference to the news about people in the UK voting that a research ship should be named "
Boaty McBoatface." The cowards in the UK didn't let that name stick though.) The second-graders also contributed "Friendship Express" and "Lunch Box."
The NY1 feature was done by Roger Clark, who seems to have the greatest job, visiting places to do (and advertise) quirky New York stuff.

Next week I'm going back to
Montefiore Headache Center in the Bronx to get nerve blocks put in on the back of my head. They've been very vague about exactly what they intend to do, though they insist it won't be hardcore enough that I'll need someone to drive me home afterward.
I am nervous. Some of the procedures done in the past to try to decrease my pain were just about torturous.
