I was looking forward to this new, shortened, final season of Gotham, thinking that the shortness would force the creators to do more meat and less filler, it being the final meant they could have more gonzo moments, and they couldn't screw No Man's Land up. What was I thinking?

Somehow the first three episodes have been 90% dull, and a lot of that good 10% showed up in flashes in the premiere, and a lot of that was frontloaded at the very beginning of that episode. Part of the problem is that the writers are trying even harder to make Jim Gordon happen this season, while he still remains the most boring part of the show, while another part is the hundredth reiteration of Bruce and Selina clashing over their moral differences in the same old ways.
