Coming Together

Last night's episode of Gotham spent a lot of really boring time focusing on Jim and Bruce and on Ivy's still unexplained and weirdly boring plans to kill everybody for reasons no one knows. But then right near the end... J*GUFDEDEAAAS#^DSSWWSX!ZXVB!!!!! Do more of this, Gotham!

What are things going to be like between the Riddler (and a submerged Ed) and a seriously damaged Oswald in Arkham, especially with Jerome in control of everything? I am dying to know. I'm also dying for Jim to find out just how bad things are in Arkham Asylum again, letting Oswald rot in what he knows has been a horrible place (though it's now terrible in a different way) for a crime he knows Oswald didn't commit for a second time.

Seriously, how is it that no one knows Jerome is basically running the asylum? It's not like he's subtle about it.

Also, Oswald is still a very clever bird, sneaking a hidden message to the Riddler under Ed's nose. If he can get the Riddler focused on getting him out of Arkham it'll be great and it's a further act of revenge on Ed.

I really hope Lee getting her hand pulverized by a hammer doesn't end her run of doing things and having agency instead of just whining about and being all about Jim.

Jim, I hope you're finally starting to really realize and remember you have done horrible things; when Harvey claimed that the events leading up to Jim becoming the captain were all his fault I was ready to throw something, because no. For example, all the people Pyg killed horribly and Sofia has killed are partially on your ledger. Also, he just shot Bruce tonight! Seriously, does Jim just shoot people constantly?

While I liked Harvey as a bartender, I'm glad he's going to be in the thick of things again now, and hopefully he'll be a reminder to Jim of how much Jim sucks.

I really don't know what Selina thought she'd accomplish talking to Ivy. At least she took the Lazarus water out of play, though that still leaves Ivy the ability to kill people up close and personal or hire thugs to shoot people down for her.

I realized tonight a big reason why I hate Sofia Falcone so much and want to see every character on the show pulverize her: we so rarely see her machinations as they occur that when she trumps another character as the show keeps having her do over and over again it seems completely unearned. Like tonight. Again. I'm so ready for the character to die horribly.
