22. Favourite book cover including a picture!
I just like it. It's so pretty.
23. Favourite fictional relationship (romantic, friendship, familial).
Have to give this one to Phedre and Joscelin from the Kushiel's Legacy series. They have a very hot-and-cold opposites-attract thing going on - she's a masochistic courtesan, he's a (previously) celibate warrior monk. But even though they have their fights and their differences, they love each other so much (even though they tried so hard not to!) and I think that really speaks to me. They just have a fascinating dynamic that I love.
24. Most annoying character ever.
I dunno, a lot of characters annoy me, but right now I'm really hating Sansa Stark and her ridiculous idealism. I have to resist the urge to physically roll my eyes everytime she says something about a "true knight," especially to Sandor Clegane. I mean, really? The dude already told you his story, and you've been mistreated by knights ever since you got to King's Landing! You'd think she'd figure out that not everything is like the ballads, but she clings to that like she's drowning. *grumbles*
25. Most quotable novel or 5 of your favourite quotes from any books.
Uh...Good Omens? I dunno, I typically don't remember quotes from books as well as I do movies. One of my favorite movies to quote (The Princess Bride) is a book, though, so I guess there's that.
26. Any five books from your "to be read" stack. What makes you select a book for your “to be read” stack?
Let's see...The Stepsister Scheme by Jim C. Hines, The Summoner by Gail Z. Martin (already started, but shelved), Empress by Karen Miller (same with this one), Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman, Three Days Dead by Kelly Meding. Criteria: Either an author that I like, or an interesting title/cover to grab my attention, and an interesting back cover synopsis to keep it. Also word of mouth (that's how I started reading ASOIAF).
27. Some firsts: First book you remember loving/being obsessed with. First book that made you cry. First book you gave to someone else as a gift.
I honestly don't remember any of these, so let's go with the most recent ones. Most recent obsession: A Song of Ice and Fire. Most recent good cry: The Hunger Games. Most recent gift book: Vampire Academy to my step-cousin two years ago. (I don't give books as gifts very often for some reason.)
28. Saddest character death OR best/most satisfying character death (or both!)
Ummmm...Hm. Kisten from Kim Harrison's The Hollows novels. I really liked him, even though he was a fairly stereotypical hot vampire guy. I guess I just liked that he had a halfway-optimistic outlook on life, when by all means he should have been totally emo.
29. The End: do you prefer everything tied up or to be able to 'make up your own mind'? What is the worst ending to a book you have read? And the best? (careful, spoiler tags!)
Absolutely prefer to make up my own mind. My favorite series, The Black Jewels series, is really bad about this. The end to the trilogy was fantastic - it answered just enough questions to satisfy me, but left me wanting more. Which Anne Bishop gave. A couple of times. And by this last one (Twilight's Dawn) she completely ruined it. The male lead hooks up with a complete and total Mary Sue character who had just gotten worse as time went on, turns into a total creeper, and they have a kid who's essentially the reincarnation of his dead wife. WTF. Words cannot describe my rage at all this. Just...ugh. Gonna stop talking now.
Oh, best ending? Umm....The Hunger Games's ending was completely heart-breaking but very very well-written...but I have to give the good ending award to an anime, Blood+. Gaaaaah I love the end of that anime. <3

Was making some graphics for the character tournament at
firaga_casters and was literally just tweaking the positioning on my text when PSP8 shut down on me. *grumblegrumble* That'll teach me not to save halfway through I guess. Coming up with character matchups that wouldn't have Terra/Rydia/Vivi/etc stomping all over the competition in the first round is hard, but I think I managed to get everyone paired up fairly well.
Finally done with finals, thank goodness. Can finally start working on fun things again, like HR and graphics and whatnot. Piracy class starts next Monday, three hours a day for three weeks, but it should be pretty fun, my favorite professor's teaching it. Plus, pirates. <3
