July 4th and 5th update :)
Okay so I had one of the BEST July 4ths that I can remember! Fortunatly, this year I dind't have to work, neither did Stephanie, and Ginger and Jenn worked in the morning/afternoon. So we actually had the chance to do something at night!
Stephanie has been seeing this guy named Ezra and a few days before the 4th he invited her over to go on his jetskis at his house. Well, since she doesn't know the guy that well, she invited me to go with! Her little brother (well he's younger, but he's taller..so he's our 'little big' brother) came too. So we woke up around 10ish and left to go over to his house and we had SO much fun. I had never been on a jetski so it was a new experience for me. Luckally he had two of them so the guys went by themselves a few times and then we got on the back too. One of them is a lot faster than the other one and the slower one was more my kind of ride, lol. Steph and I rode them and we did good and didn't fall over right until she was like, "I want to do a 360!!" And sure enough she turned around a little bit too fast and plop! Now, water that I can't see the bottom in scares me to death. Any ocean or creek or anything like that scares me because I'm so afraid I'm going to step on something I'm not supposed to step in or creepy crawlers swimming over me or ecckk!! So of course when I fall off, within two seconds I am right back on, lol.
We were out there for like 3 hours riding along and it was so much fun. We saw the shuttle go off in a distance from his dock. After that we went back home for Ginger to get off and cleaned up and got ready to head out to the beach. We rounded up Ginger, Andy, me, Steph, Jenn, Ezra, Dena, Foo Foo, and Ben Owens met up with us. We got out there early so we could find a good parking and beach spot. We brought our moving blankets and found a spot right by the pier. To kill some time we got something to eat, went to Walgreens, and Ritas--yum! So when it started getting dark there was some fireworks going off wayy in a distance on both sides of us and we saw these boats in the water moving back and forth and I kept on saying, "those boats need to start the fireworks!! let's go stop moving around!!" lol (like it made a difference). Welll it turns out that the fireworks weren't going to be launched from the boats---they were going to be launched right from the pier!! So we got lucky and got some really really good seats. We laid back and enjoyed how beautiful they were :)
After they were done of course it was hell trying to get out of there so we walked around a little bit and finally after about an hour of killing time and everyone rushing to get out we left. It was still really bad traffic but we got outta there. Then a few of us came back to our house and we were hanging out. It ended up being me, Stephanie, Ezra, and Ben at my house shooting the bull in my pool until like 3-4 in the morning. Poor Ezra had to be at work at like 6!! But we slept in the next day and Steph and I realized how incredibly sore we were from the jetskis and just floated around in my pool the next day to take it easy.
Around 5ish on the 5th we started getting ready for the Jax Suns game-the baseball team here because a large group of us from work won a contest and our managers bought us all tickets. So we had the day off to spend the evening with co-workers.. lol :) It was a lot of fun though. We lost but they shot off more fireworks after that so it was okay :)
And other than that haven't been up to too much. Ginger left to go to San Diego with Andy yesterday and Stephanie left for Seattle for a family reunion early this morning. Last night Jenn and I saw "The Devil Wears Prada" and it was pretty good. We had our "date" :) Now I want to read the book since you talked about it, DeLana!
But anyway, have a great weekend everyone :D
