Easter Break
Wow you know you are ready for summer when you are living for your days off. UIL is over, the kids are ready for it all to be over. Too bad for them, TAKS is around the corner. TAKS makes us all crazy. Being cooped up in a room for 5 hours with a horrid test that doesn't measure real intelligence. Not being allowed to talk AT ALL, or do any type of other fun activity.
My kids are insane right now. They know there is a 4 day weekend coming up. They were complete assholes the last two days. I took up a bunch of notes and found a notebook that two girls were passing between each other. The notebook had their names on it, first and last. How stupid can they be? If you are going to have a notebook like that, at least use code names! Plus they had "F this" or "F her!" Holy shit! I nearly fell out of my chair. The bad part is they are both very good students and players. The "right" thing to do is to turn the notebook in. These girls have probably never been in trouble in their entire school careers. In the end its better for them to get into trouble now and learn to be smarter about the note passing so they don't screw themselves over in high school.
I'm probably more excited than the kids are about the upcoming weekend. As teachers we get real excited about stuff like that. I am going to SLEEP!!!! and have some relaxation.....
