Unexpected
As Ryo stands with Hibiki outside of Tohodo, he looks at two girls from the corner of his eyes to see them giggling and pointing at him. He can hear that they're discussing about whether or not to walk over to him, and he sighs.
"Those girls really do get annoying sometimes," he says quietly.
"Oh?" Hibiki says, looking in the girls' direction. The two of them quickly stop pointing and turn around, embarrassed about being seen.
"Yeah. I see them acting like that all of the time."
"I see." Hibiki grins. "Give me your hand, Ryo."
"What? Why?" Ryo questions, but the only answer he receives is Hibiki grabbing his hand and intertwining their fingers together.
"You'll see. Come on," Hibiki says. He starts walking and forces Ryo to move with him despite the slight hesitation. When he sees the girls turn back and notice them together, he waves and smiles.
"Hibiki!" Ryo cries. "What are you--"
"Look," Hibiki interrupts, pointing toward the girls. Ryo dares to turn his gaze to where the girls had been standing only to see them walking away and talking to each other with disappointed expressions on their faces.
"Oh... They're leaving."
"Because they saw us together like this."
"Oh," Ryo repeats. He stares at the ground as he feels his face burning in response to Hibiki's previous actions.
"We can let go now and go back to Tohodo if you want."
"No... That's all right," Ryo says slowly. He squeezes Hibiki's hand tighter. "Let's just... keep going like this."
