This and that

I had a really fun time visiting my friends last week. I got there on Tuesday and came back today. In between, I lazed around, helped proofread a book, read a couple of books, visited the Turku Book Fair and made some really nice finds in the second hand stalls and visited the Food Fair as well, sampling everything.

S and I also watched that old Duran Duran concert I'd mentioned that I have on VCR countless times before this. I finally remembered to find the cassette and take it with me. The "As the Light Go Down" from 1984 is really good, though both of us were laughing at the Finnish translations, since this had been taped from the TV and had translations on it XD. For such an old tape, it's still in really good condition and very clear. Now I really really need to find some way to transfer if from video to DVD!!

We also spent one evening playing Band/Guitar Hero. I tried the drums and singing. My sister used to have drums when we were teens, so I already kinda know how to play the basic beat, but it's still a different thing trying to do three different things at once. We only tried the easiest kind of drum stuff this time. I didn't even get sore the next day XD.

The songs available were quite limited so I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to try out, since I hadn't played before and wanted to try only familiar songs. On the other hand, I know how to sing, so following a tune and singing along aren't that difficult tasks for me - I stayed in the 84-98% category all the time. Though I'm surprised that my drumming (at Easy level) also was at +80% even though the songs we tried did have the easiest possible beats...

ETA: I will try to catch up with individual journals, but comms aren't really doable. I would appreciate people telling me if anything really remarkable has happened in fandom during this week. :)
