What is this "common sense" that I hear extolled so often in so many different ways?  I am sure you readers have also heard the phrase as well.  You know "he has read a lot of books, but has no COMMON sense" usually meaning that he doesnt bother to get in out of the rain, or some such.  Every body should have common sense, right ( Read more... )

I guess this qualifies as a political rant and some of you might find it offensive, especially if you are in the so called GLBT movement.  But I definitely have a craw in my throat and here is my bully pulpit to express myself. . Most of the time when the media talks about "Kramer" it seems they are talking about the character on Seinfeld. You know, the one that went berserk somewhere. I hate "dirty" politics.  What do I mean by that?  Dirty politics as I see it is the mis-representation of facts, quoting out of context, using statements about one thing to defend or repudiate another.  None of these practices helps dialogue, credibility or the voter to know what is really going on.  And all sides seem to be guilty.

I think maybe I should stop listening to NPR because I am getting entirely too well informed and it is blowing my mind. That is sort of a joke, but I really do think I was less confused when I wasnt really hearing the news.
