I read the first two books of the Fablehaven last week. Fairly quick but good reads. The young boy character gets a bit annoying but it sort of fits with his age. Though he doesn't seem to really learn from anything. His sister, who is a few years older than him, balances his character but is by no means a timid mouse.
The stories mostly take place somewhere in a forested part of Connecticut.
The fantasy story flows well and I can see it leading to a really large dramatic ending in book 5.
