I just finished the first two novels in the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. At first, I didn't realize that Vin is the main character of the story. But she began to develop and grow and I became more intrigued with how the magic she used, Allomancy, worked. Like his book, Elantris, the second Mistborn book gives a detailed description at the back of the book of how the magic system works. The second book, The Hero of Ages, ends with a twist, which I was not expecting. I have not read the third book, The Well of Ascension, nor the fourth, The Alloy of Law. I do look forward to finished the series when I get those two.
