American Gangster: Good movie, well directed, although the script has a few corny moments. Great cast with a ton of cameos including the RZA and Stringer Bell from The Wire ( Read more... )

I guess we're not the only ones who agree. The theater last night was totally sold out.

I loved No Country for Old Men. RJ and I couldn't stop talking about it after we saw it. Not that our conversation was intellectual filmie talk talk...more like, "and then I was like 'don't sit on the bed in front of the door!!'"

Yeah, No Country was more suspenseful and creepy than most horror movies. That "Sugar" dude was freaky.

Are you sick or just using it for a personal day?

I'm not sick. Work has been stressful and annoying lately and I wanted a day off. It's hard to take days off due to all of the publishing deadlines, so you kind of have to grab the "sick" days where you can.

I LOVED Tommy Lee Jones. Everyone in the film was a good actor, but he really blew me away.

I'm always tempted to do that. I have 10 sick days a year, but there is no way I'd ever use that many. I think I've used 2 so far.

Yeah, I agree about Tommy Lee... I'd love to see another ten movies with that character. I guess he was college roomies with Al Gore.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. There have been so many classic mob movies, it's hard to match up to them. Although any movie with Common... that has to count for something.
