In the bleak midwinter
Not exactly midwinter, but good grief, it's cold! Temps didn't make it out of the 20s until this afternoon, and now we're plummeting back down to around 20 or so. This is positively balmy compared to the coming week--lows (actual temps) down in the 'teens, and wind chills hitting single digits. Chance of snow tomorrow, better chance Thursday-Friday.
In spite of this arctic air, 2 girlfriends of mine & I got together for a leisurely brunch at Panera--I had the applewood bacon, egg & cheese on ciabatta with a steaming cup of hot chocolate and orange juice.
Then we went next door to Dinstuhl's (best candy in Memphis--locally owned for years) and scored half-price Christmas candy.
Home for a late lunch & more hot chocolate, watched some House eps with a friend, came home again and had tomato soup and watched Twilight (again).
Church tomorrow--chili lunch, taking down Christmas decorations, then going to see Sherlock Holmes with a friend tomorrow afternoon.
