Well, starting the third month with no job. Thank the gods I have an IRA that I can tap into without paying extra taxes! I'm applying to everything I can think of except for the Big Bad Two (CVS/Walgreens) because the very thought of going back there gives me nightmares. I might have to come up with an alternative job to tide me over until I can get a pharmacist position--but what will pay the mortgage & stop me from eating into my retirement funds?
On the bright side, I watched a hilarious movie this morning on iTunes. The Lost City stars Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Elijah Wood, & Brad Pitt & it's laugh out loud funny. She's a romance writer who is a bit of an agoraphobe. She has just finished writing a book called The Lost City of D & is forced into doing a book tour with her cover model (Tatum), who she can't stand. Elijah Wood's character is a billionaire who is convinced the Lost City - and the jeweled crown of its queen - really exist & that she can lead him to it. She is kidnapped. The cover model witnesses this & decides he must rescue her (despite the fact that he is actually ... just a cover model). He enlists the aid of Brad Pitt & the two set off for the jungle island where she is being held captive. It goes just about as well as you can expect with that sort of rescue ...
Sandra Bullock has aged gracefully & is a wonderful actress. Tatum did a great job of playing the dumb model. And Wood ... who'd have thought he'd make a convincing villain (albeit a funny one)? They took my mind off my troubles for a couple of hours, for which I'm grateful.
Back to the Amish romance plots ... it's getting close to that time where we need to start on the Xmas plots... shudder.
