I am "attending" the League of Utah Writers' Quills Conference this weekend. Lots of great handouts, good virtual sessions on top of their live stuff, and a scavenger hunt! Last year I won this year's free ticket from the scavenger hunt but this year I'm not in first place so no free ticket for next time! Maybe by then things will have calmed down so I can take a weekend off and attend in person. They always have it in Salt Lake City and I've never been there so it'd be fun.
Right now I'm learning all about how to use your book to make extra income -- stuff like audiobooks, affiliate marketing, lectures, etc. Another good session I saw earlier was on writing for anthologies. Now there's something I evidently needed to hear! I'm going to take a little break at 6 and have dinner with the roomie, then it's back for the keynote speech and the announcements of their awards and the next league president. Tomorrow is a short day but it's been a fun weekend so I'm glad I won a ticket.
