Had a nice weekend down in L.A…. Saturday evening, we had a potluck/memorial for Frank at Audrey’s house in Alhambra. I got my hair trimmed yesterday….I was starting to look like a sea hag with those raggedy split-ends! Well...a had quite a nice weekend. Don came up from L.A. to visit, so we purposely avoided Fiesta activities in Santa Barbara and went down to Ventura to browse the antique shops and for dinner. I was shocked to hear the news that Frank Manis, a mutual friend of my sister and mine, was found dead in his Hollywood apartment on Monday under unknown circumstances. We are all in complete shock, as this was so sudden and unexpected. Also, he wasn't that old (only in his late 40's or so) and had no serious health problems that we were aware of ( Read more... )

Went to the Greek Festival this afternoon with the roommates. Ate Greek food, drank Greek Beer, Greek coffee, and ate Greek pastries... I now feel like I'm 10 pounds of sugar in a 5 pound bag but everything was oh-so good and worth the guilt I'll feel tomorrow. Life is short and I'm not here to starve. May as well eat and enjoy yourself. Heh! ;)

Been busy balancing work and class...not getting home til' after my bedtime and trying to stay awake the next day for work. This is my last week of class, so I won't have to do this next week. There's an awful lot to remember and learn-oh my! Last night's lesson focused on the "Sour" drinks (i.e. Whiskey Sours, etc.) Fun, fun, fun.
