Why do people do this? Seriously?

AFF.net's Original archives you can find some pretty damn good stories if you are willing to look a round. Like everything else it suffers from Sturgeon's Law: a lot of stories are terribly cliche'd, some have horrendous grammar, some populated entirely with wangsty sues and stus ( Read more... )

Oh aff.net. Lovely, lovely aff.net.
What bothers me is that I just recently found out that they "hide" slash sub categories *everywhere*, instead of just putting it in originals - slash and giving that part a few subs of its own. I'm just guessing, but most people look for slash specifically, hence the category...!

I noticed that Nanowrimo thing, too, and haven't bothered to try it yet.
But while we're at it, anything good you've found in the originals section lately? XD

I love Undesirable btw. It's epic. *_*

Oh yeah, those subcatagories... you know, on one hand, yeah it's helpful if I'm thinking "eh today I'm in a lesbian vampire mood" but it's rather hard when you had some fics that you were following before the great sub-dividing and now you can't figure out which pidgeon hole they got thrown into.

Yes, actually, there are a number that I'm keeping track of. I'm a fan of Kabi's work. She has a lot of raw talent for hitting the emotional nail on the head. She however does have a few drawbacks you have to be willing to overlook. Her grammar is on the weak side, and she is extremely bare bones as far as description is concerned. But I find I can overlook those things for the powerful backstory, originality, and emotional dynamics. Her stuff is "crack" in the best way -- not funny, simply an extremely difficult concept fully and believably realized. I think she has enormous potential.

Last Pure Human is a delightfully wrong sort of pleasure. Again it's a concept that would be hard to do right, but the writer (TwistedHalarity) ( ... )

Thx for the recommendations!
I love "Ink" as well. I couldn't help but like the characters from the very beginning, and I agree that it's incredibly fun to read. :)
I tried "The last pure human", but somehow it didn't work for me; I like furry and don't midn non-con at all... dunno why. ^^;;
The rest I haven't read at all yet, thx for those!

Everyone has their kinks, that's why litertaure is so wonderfully diverse.
