Even though it's a stew, this is light enough to be enjoyed even in the summer heat. The broccoli gives it lots of vitamins and also a wonderful colour and the lentils make it a satisfying meal. Cold days are made for soups that warm your body and soul. This soup is also perfect if you have an upset stomach or feeling like getting a cold (just use less spices), so I usually make a big portion of it and freeze some to have it at hand when I don't feel so well. I've been watching this com for ages and trying out some of the recipes, so I thought I'd finally share one. My Mum used to cook this is huge batches in the 80s and take it two the two boys at our local peace camp and at the weekend, over to the Women at Greenham Common.
