New York City vegan
I'm originally from New York City, and I go there with some frequency (at least twice a year), but my last few trips have mostly stuck to Manhattan.
Since restaurants come and go so quickly, I'm looking for the scoop on the best places that have popped up (or gotten popular) fairly recently (say, in the last two years).
I'm especially curious about the following categories:
*Pizza
*Comfort food
*Really amazingly delicious food for cheap
*Sushi - good assortment of creative veggie sushi
*Best place to get a piece of delicious cake (NOT the kind that Curly's sells)
Right now, I live in Madison (Wisconsin), and I eat a lot of Laotian, Thai, and Nepali food, plus some Indian food. So, I'm less interested in those cuisines.
