The Colosseum & the rain...

Jan 21, 2009 06:19

So I woke up at the crack of dawn again to get movin on a tour. I hopped the metro to the Colosseum and met up with my tour guide. Once again, I was the only one on the tour. The girl told me that it is definitely off season but that the rain had also kept people away. She told me that it was all outside and that I had the option of not going and we pushed on! It was only barely raining at this point and we did a long tour of the colosseum and palatine hill. I got to see many views of a lot of the old ruins and even where Caesar was cremated. Lots of history you probably already know... But it was wonderful. Unfortunately it was raining and we ran through quite a bit of it. Afterward I rushed back to the hostel to get into some dry clothes before I got more sick and here I am. I'm avoiding doing much at all tonight to keep dry.

I also changed my flight home to the 2nd. In an effort to save money to live off of when I get back and to get some real rest I will be skipping Amsterdam and Paris. But this gives me a reason to come back again soon. Maybe in June with wantit...
