To House, or Not To House

I've got the seller's counter-offer back and it's... acceptable.

Now I've got to make a decision that is by far the biggest purchase of my life. It's quite literally 100 times more than the most expensive thing I've ever bought. ONE. HUNDRED. TIMES. (Yeah, I've had pretty crappy - but helluva deal - used cars all my life).

All I can think about is "God damnit! I'm going to have to furnish the place! I'M GOING TO HAVE TO GO FURNITURE SHOPPING. UGH."

I really don't know what it is - I have this incredible anxiety about buying furniture. I don't know why. Don't get me wrong- I want nice furniture, and I've got some ideas in my head about how I want things to look, but I just don't want to have to shop for it. Hiring a designer is not an option. Anyone have any extremely fashionable gay friends who like to spend other people's money?

Tell me, Internets, that I'm making the right decision buying a house.

I keep asking myself "What the hell am *I* going to do with a house?"

  • WHATEVER THE HELL I WANT!
  • RUN AROUND UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS AND ALL THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE WITHOUT CLOTHES ON!
  • PUT THE AC/HEAT ON WHATEVER TEMPERATURE I WANT!
  • PUT MY CAR IN A GARAGE!
  • DISPLAY MY PHOTOGRAPHY!
  • UNPACK MY STUFF FROM WHEN I MOVED 15 MONTHS AGO!
  • HAVE COCKTAIL PARTIES AND OTHER ENTERTAINING!
  • SLEEP NAKED!!!
  • PROFIT!!!

I'm working on the details of that last one.. it's a little fuzzy right now.

home ownership, change
