I went to my very first Opera viewing last Saturday and it was quite a rollercoaster experience mentally and physically. I saw Carmen at the Royal Albert Hall in English but it made the translations easier to understand since I have not bothered to read any translations beforehand, despite knowing a bit of French from school.
