Interesting observation I made when I go to gigs
As much as I like live music, I seem to be a serious masochistic and tolerate the pain of being in the pit. Oh joy. But comparing my experiences between the Jrock and British/Scandinavian gigs I've been to in the past...I picked up some small things.

We've been silenced by the night
Thinking of doing a track by track post on Keane's new album Strangeland but I need to listen to it more than twice to get the music right into my head. I can definitely say it's a welcome triumph since Perfect Symmetry which was easy targeting for critics to bash Keane even further. There's a Hopes And Fears feel in some of the tracks. Is there a way of embedding Twitvids into LJ? It used to work before and now it doesn't D: *shakes fists*
I wanted to link the following vid which I recently uploaded after catching up on previous episodes of Glee. I was hoping to check out this and their version of Born This Way. Not sure if I'll continue watching for real this time sadly.

Orchestral epicness
This was tweeted by Keane a few days ago and I think this gem is just major hearts. A classical arrangement of Keane's Somewhere Only We Know. Nom nom nom. I nearly cried when I heard this. It's one of my fav Keane songs anyway but to hear it in orchestral style it gives it a whole other meaning.

Woeful
I have noticed in the past two months that whenever there is a tube strike in London it tends to be on days I'm going to a gig :'( TFL know how to annoy people don't they ( Read more... )
