I love me some devilled aggs. Can do very well without the peas, though.

I think I make the best deviled eggs---my "secret" ingredient is tartar sauce in lieu of mayonaise---but as long as the yolks haven't been pureed into gooey mush, it's all good.

Peas are evil.

Peas glorious peas! Hey, get me an invitation, and I'll eat the peas. Of course, I'll force myself to eat Turkey and fixin's as well. *woe* ;)

I'm sure I could talk her into it---but do you really plan to race the length of the continent for peas? There really is no accounting for taste....

Nice fresh peas? Oh yes, if I had a private plane I'd jump right on it to get some nice fresh produce.

By the by, I just finished re-reading all the Nancy McGill stories. *sigh* Sure do miss her and Big John.

Hmm...I can't guarantee fresh. More likely, frozen.

Well, gee, I hate to disappoint a loyal reader. However, I do have yuletide on my plate for the next few weeks. Maybe I'll make it a New Year's resolution to resurrect John....

PIE! A girl can put up with anything for pie!

Once you cook your ham, you can make up some meal-sized Baggies of it and pop them in the freezer. It freezes so well that we've frequently enjoyed the last of the Christmas ham at Easter time.

Yes, there *will* be pie. Four kinds, I understand: mincemeat, apple, pecan, and of course, pumpkin. And I will think of Dean....

It sounds like I'm roasting a comedian: First, cook your ham---! Freezing portions of it *does* sound more practical than having a vast platter of it living in the fridge for a week. At the moment, I'm looking at recipes for glaze, and trying to decide whether I want to whip something up and eschew the little foil packet it comes with, or what.
