facebook on npr

So, I was listening to NPR this morning on my drive in to work, like the good, young, liberal female that I am, and I heard a story about facebook. Apparently we're not part of an elitist (where "elitist = 10mil members) online association anymore--FACEBOOK HAS GONE PUBLIC. Now ANYONE can join. They interviewed some college chick at USC and she talked about how she was sad b/c now ANYONE can join, and therefore facebook will soon be populated by out-and-out crazies, instead of just a bunch of bored kids with nothing else to do but participate in socially-accepted STALKING.

THEN, the NPR interviewer started talking to Mark Zuckerberg (owner/creator/whatever of facebook). He's 22. He went to Harvard. And he has one of the most annoying voices I've heard in a LOOOONNNGGG time. I'm sure he's an upstanding young gentleman (actually--i'm not--i don't KNOW him), but that voice. I had to change the channel (luckily, 97.1-The River was playing some Eagles--thank you--I don't mind if I do TAKE IT EAAAAAA-SEY). But before I changed the channel, I heard him being asked "why do you think that the facebookers are so up in arms over Facebook being opened to the public?". Mr. Zuckerberg started talking about how every time facebook became more and more accessible, people would be upset. It's because "people" like feeling like they're part of a *special* group or club that no one else can be in.

And he may have very well had a point--but d*mmit, I'll never know, because HIS VOICE!!! guh....

I suppose the reason I wouldn't want the facebook to be public is that if it is, and if I ever have to find a new job, i'll have to remove "moisturizing my situation and maintaining my sexy" from my interests [speaking of moisturizing situations and maintaining sexies--I just wanted you to know that Up to 4 ounces of a few items will be permitted in carry-on bags [on commercial airline flights]: eye drops, saline solution, nonprescription medicine and *personal lubricants*--so, there you go. No liquid bombs--but we can't have you getting all dry and itchy...down there...].

Also, they said on NPR that facebook might be sold to Yahoo! for $1billion. They said Billion? right? BILLION??
