facebook on npr

So, I was listening to NPR this morning on my drive in to work, like the good, young, liberal female that I am, and I heard a story about facebook. Apparently we're not part of an elitist (where "elitist = 10mil members) online association anymore--FACEBOOK HAS GONE PUBLIC. Now ANYONE can join. They interviewed some college chick at USC and she ( Read more... )

ummm....facebook is pretty much useless and hardly worth a billion dollars. Why in the world would they pay that? Dumb. And it wasn't that people wanted to feel "special", it's that it wasn't populated with perverts, nobody bands, and people's bosses. There'll be another time-wasting website out soon enough that everyone can join.

Was the 4 oz. thing the picture you sent me?

Well--there are a lot of people on it, it's a good way to advertise, and I still like the layout a hell of a lot more than MySpace. I cannot stand going to myspace, and it's pretty much useless anyway. But Facebook is kind of fun sometimes.

Yes, the 4 oz thing was the picture i sent you. bring your LipSmackers Lip Gloss-IT'S ALL GOOD!!

I started thinking about the liquids that I absolutely HAVE to have with me and it all amounts to lip gloss and hair goop. Everything else the people I'm visiting should have.

As far as Savannah, if 3 chicks can't get by on 3 oz. of shampoo for 2 days we have a problem.

One of us can check a bag with the liquids. No big whoop.

i heard that report too. having not been in college when facebook came out, though, i'm unaffected.

and i have no desire to sign up now that it's public. that's one more social networking site to deal with. i don't have the energy for it.

That guy's voice was annoying! And he wouldn't answer any of the interviewer's questions which is doubly annoying.

I'm happy, though, because I was kicked off of Facebook a year ago (thanks a lot UGA) and now I can return.

I'm glad someone else heard his voice. I mean--i'm sorry someone else had to hear it, but at least I'm not alone.

Yeah, I heard that interview this morning. Being the jerk that I am, I decided to mock the annoying voice of Mr. Zuckerberg. He has that terribly abrasive intonation where it sounds like he's asking a question mid-sentence.

And people? When they learn that facebook has become public? They get upset? Because they're no longer part of an exclusive group?

And that girl they interviewed... I made fun of her too. She said something about sketchy people being on facebook now, as though there are no sketchy college students. Oh, the poor dear... she must be a freshman.

ahahahahaha! Freshman are dumb.

I sort of wish I had heard this chode-hole on the radio. I seem to be the only one who didn't catch him. I probably would have only gotten a few words in though before I gave up and pulled my ears off.
