It's Melissa.  I left Harlem, New York 24 hours ago, flew over the North Pole and landed back in smoggy ol' Delhi. A heady rush of emotion (and severe jet lag) left me sobbing with emotion as President-elect Obama accepted the nomination.  Wow. President Obama.  Pretty amazing.

The polls have been closed for two hours here in Florida, and it's still too close to call. With 45% of Florida precincts reporting, Obama is up 52 - 48 with a lead of more than 200,000 votes.

The soon-to-go-to-bed S. Mitra Kalita here again. CNN just reported that by 10 a.m. EST, the rain-soaked state of Virginia had already seen between 30-40% of total registered voters vote. I just made it into the office, after driving by a few polling places on the way in. Everything looks to be running smoothly, with steady traffic and no lines in my area. Local radio is reporting minor problems in a couple of Florida counties, including Pasco and Palm Beach, but any issues don't seem to be major.

Polls opened here in Florida at 7:00 AM this morning. After dropping my son off at school, I headed over to my polling place at a church just down the block from my house.
