urthling dreams, picture, nature is a bitch

in my attempt to keep to a "bed time routine" i've been making sure the tv is off when the urthling gets out of the bath. i put on music. last night i asked thebcman to get the tv off for us. when we went up front he had Kingfish playing loud. needless to say the urthling (being the music lover that she is) started to dance and get all riled up.

ahem.

we turned down the volume (the point of the music is to help calm her, not get her all jazzed up!) and she started to settle. didn't get to bed when i wanted, but not really late either.

i was later awakened by urthling cries " my pizza dough! my pizza dough!" WTF?!?!!  i got up, hugged her and tried to sooth her. she got tired of that and pushed my face away. i laid her down and rubbed her back. she continued to cry "my pizza dough!" i tried giving her pretend pizza dough, telling her that we made the pizza dough into pizza and cooked it-not really helpful. this went on for about 15-20 minutes. finally she said "mommy lay down!" and i did. then she said "blanket" meaning she wanted covered up. so i sat up to cover her up and she said "no mommy lay down!" "well i can't cover you up when i'm laying down. " got her covered up and laid back down and she  sobbed for a few minutes more before she went back to sleep.

needless to say i feel about as energetic as a lump of ear wax. when we were getting ready to go this morning i asked her about it and she said the pizza dough was taken away from her.

as we walked out the door we saw a picture of us at the ren fest.  ?? we suspect our neighbor mark. it shows a fairy woman with her fairy poodle. we were on the edges of the picture. i suspect mark took the pic of the fairy woman & dog and then later realized we were in the picture. i will ask him when we get home tonight.

just in front of melissa's house i saw a bird in the middle of the street. not a dead, smashed bird, but a bird sitting in the middle of the street!  i drove around it. i saw other cars drive over it (with bird between tires) and the bird kind of flutters. something is obviously wrong with the bird. i was thinking about trying to get the bird out of the middle of the street-would it suffer more there? was it better to try to drive over it and put it out of it's misery?  i get the urthling inside and say "you've got another bird* that has about 5 more minutes of life out there" she said yes, she drove around it herself and her son wanted to bring it inside. by the time i get back outside the bird has been hit and is dead.

upon arrival at work, 15 til 8- i get the last parking spot on memorial dr.  someone else could have parked there, but people refuse to pull up close to the car in front of or behind them. i wish they would put lines out there so people would see the  parking spots.

*last week when we arrived she was outside picking up a dead bird from the yard
