Not really. I did stay home from work today but I was sick. Nothing major, just a stomach bug. It's been a while since I last posted, but a combination of being super busy, and not having much to post about has kept me away.
School started about a month ago. I missed the first day because we were in New Jersey visiting my family. That was Cha's idea not mine. Not that I'm opposed to seeing my family, I just have no real desire to. I have so little in common with my family that sometimes it's hard to believe we're related.
School is going okay. I'm only taking three classes, mathematical statistics, Chinese, and intermediate microeconomics. The first two are going well. Mathematical statistics is so much like business statistics, which I took last fall, that a lot of it is essentially review. I'm really enjoying Chinese, although far we've just learned greetings and introductions. We just started nationalities last Friday. Even the characters are less trouble than I imagined. I'm even looking at doing a summer in China to really immerse myself in the language. Intermediate microeconomics is proving a bit troubling. That's only because I have neither the textbook or access to the online site for doing homework. I've got the first of two midterms rapidly approaching and no way to study.
I continue my job in a convenience store, though I'm hoping to have something better by summer. After finishing both intermediate economics courses I should be able to find a nice internship somewhere.
At the advice of my counselor, I continue to put aside some time to work on my RPG materials. Apparently it's necessary and healthy to spend sone time doing something I enjoy. I've recently been working on my Pathfinder setting. I'm finishing up a basic description of the Pantheon, and had an idea I'm also delving into. I knew that the forested region to the east of the campaign starting area was inhabited by hobgoblins (amongst other critters), but hadn't given it much thought beyond that until recently. That's when I had the idea of having several hobgoblin tribes combined into a hobgoblin empire. In deciding on the emperor, I settled on a green dragon, because it would be smart enough, powerful enough, and otherwise capable of doing so. I've decided to give it some levels in sorcerer to make it even tougher. I also like the idea of a dragon because I wanted to do something that wasn't a template creature. I've got a couple of ideas for lieutenants I'm going to work on as well.
