Maryland Backyard Nature
Hi everyone, I recently posted pictures from my yard in my LJ, so I thought I'd cross-post them here. I'm in Maryland in a suburb of DC. If that isn't urban enough let me know!
There is a spider guarding our side door. I named it Horace, although by the size it's probably a female:
We've seen deer a few times, and twice it was an adult and two younger ones. One time I actually had my camera:
Behind the deer you can see my formerly-alive little plants
We have also seen a lot more goldfinches lately (except today, because I need to refill the feeder)
A little blurry, sorry
And finally, hummingbird pictures!! They aren't the best, they are a little blurry for several reasons, but they are kind of fun anyway.
I have another post or two from my backyard here. I also go to a local nature center as often as possible, although I've missed it for the past couple of months. I have reports from there here. Some general DC area stuff is here. And finally, sometimes I travel to Phoenix for work, some of the nature from that area is here, although that tag also has stuff from out in the country. If these links are too off-topic, tell me.
I love this community so far, I can't wait to see what everyone posts!
